Col (retd) Esekia Litur Wenzel

Colonel (Retired) Esekia Litur Wenzel, DMS, MBE has 36 years of military service. He was the Reserve Force Commander prior to his appointment as the Military Assistant to the Chief of Defence Force, and served till his retirement in 2019 as the Chief of Joint Operations Branch.
Col Wenzel commanded joint operations (APEC/border/disaster/Highlands emergency/national elections) in his capacity as the Chief of Joint Operations. Fluent in indonesian, and a graduate of the PNG Defence Academy, Australian Centre for Defence Strategic Studies, Australian Defence College, the Peoples’ Republic of China Nanjing Army Command College, USA ( Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Hawaii). He attended seminars, workshops in Australia, USA, China, Fiji and Indonesia, New Caledonia and secondment to the PNG High Commission, Honiara, Solomon Islands, and co-chair Joint Sub-Committee on Security Matters PNG-Republic of Indonesia.
Colonel Wenzel (Retired) holds a Bachelor of Business Management (Public Policy Management major) from the University of Papua New Guinea, a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Studies from Deakin University and a Diploma in Modern Management and Administration, Cambridge International College (UK).
